Thinking Thursday 23 April 2020 tasks from Mrs Grenfell

Good morning everybody! You have all been doing some awesome learning and I am loving the work you share – keep it up!

Hope you have fun doing these challenges – remember, you can do them anytime and if you enjoy them, have another go at them.

Magical writing!

A genie has granted you Three Wishes!!! What would they be?

Listen to the words of the song, use your thinking powers and create a piece of writing about your wishes. You could also draw a picture of the genie to share with us. Don’t forget to have fun and do the actions to the song!

This memory game will really get you thinking!

Here is how to play the memory game:

Gather random objects from around the house or the garden.  Perhaps you could start with 5 then add more (even up to 20) things.

Place the objects on the table or a tray.

Look at them very carefully for about 30 seconds.

Cover up the tray with a napkin or cloth.

Can you remember every single item on the tray?

Buddy up for the next game –  look at the objects, then close your eyes and let someone remove (take away) one object and then see if you can tell them what it is.

Your Technology and Physical Education challenge for today is………..

Design an obstacle course for you and your family! Take turns and then time each other to see how fast you can do it. Please remember to check with an adult to see if it’s okay to use things from around your home. Also, SAFETY is really important so it may be best to have an adult supervising your work.

About the Author:

Teacher, mum and nana, that's me! I love being part of sharing learning in Room 2 at Poroti School, where I work on Thursdays and Fridays and also do some relief teaching as well. When I'm not teaching, I knit, sew and crochet, read heaps of books and bake for my family. We have chickens, fruit trees, grow our own vegetables and live off the land in a chemically reduced way - eliminating plastic and toxic sprays. I also make my own soap and body care products.
