Room 2 Monday 30th August

Room 2 Home Learning – Monday 30th August

Let start the week with another joke…

What did one traffic light say to the other traffic light?

Check back in to see the answer in tomorrows Room 2 Home Learning post…

Welcome to Week 2 of Online Learning team, and Week 6 of Term 3!

I trust that you all had a wonderful weekend! I can’t wait to hear all about it. The plan for today is as follows, but remember if you have internet issues, device scheduling issues, or just other things going on in your bubble, there are heaps of things you can carry on with such as…

Ag-Day Cover,

Unfinished home learning from last week, and

Hardcopy activities from your Home Learning pack.

Here is the plan…

9.30am Karakia and Attendance – in the ‘Whole School’ Google Classroom

‘Room 2’ Google Classroom for the rest of the day.

10.00am – Spelling – new words for the week – You can find these in our Room 2 Drive, in your individually named folders. Mrs Booth will start with Year 0-1, then Year 2, then Year 3-4.

Spelling Activity Bubble Words – Write your spelling word on a piece of paper with pencil. Write the word again using bubble writing.  Just in case you’re not  sure what bubble writing is, I have included a picture 🙂

10.20am  Shared Story – “Kuwi’s Huhu Hunt” by Kat Merewether.

Bug Hunt time!! Just like Kuwi and Huwi, you are going to go on your own bug hunt! Take a picture (or draw one) of the bug you have found.

10.45am – Writing – Using the bug you have found on your bug hunt as inspiration today we are going to practice a ‘preposition start’ sentence. This means the ‘where’ or the ‘when’ is at the start of the sentence! Where did you find your bug? Check in with Mrs Booth for some examples before you start.

11.00am – 11.15am – Morning Tea Break!

11.15am – 11.30am  Writing! – Here is a little bit of extra time to finish off your writing about your bug. Do you have a preposition start sentence??

11.30am – Class Diary! – Gather together to share your writing, and your bug, for Class Diary!

11.50am Maths Challenge – We are continuing with fractions this week. We have discussed that a fraction is ‘part of a whole’ and that the ‘parts’ have to be ‘equal’. We know that a ‘whole’ split in ‘half’ means two equal pieces but what fraction is ‘one quarter’? Have a look at the following pictures and see if you can solve them… we can discuss your thoughts in our Google Classroom.

Question time – Our Room 2 Google Classroom will be open until 12.30pm feel free to pop in and ask questions or to have a chat. Have a great day team!
