Room 2 Monday 23rd August

Room 2 Home Learning – Monday 23rd August

Let start the day with a joke…

Why don’t witches wear flat hats?

Check back in to see the answer in tomorrows Room 2 Home Learning post… it’s a goodie!

Welcome to Online Learning team, and for those who have been here before, Welcome back!

In this post you will find some learning activities for the day, along with the times that Mrs Booth will be teaching these in the Google classroom. It would be awesome if you could all join me at these times! However, if it doesn’t suit your schedule then feel free to complete these activities at a time of your choosing.

Alternatively, you have an amazing looking Homework book in your home learning pack that you may choose to use instead. There are lots of options, please pick one that suits you and your families best 🙂

Here is the plan…

9.30am Karakia and Attendance – in the ‘Whole School’ Google Classroom

‘Room 2’ Google Classroom for the rest of the day.

10.00am – Spelling – new words for the week – You can find these in our Room 2 Drive, in your individually named folders. Mrs Booth will start with Year 0-1, then Year 2, then Year 3-4.

Spelling Activity Rainbow words – Write your spelling word on a piece of paper with pencil. Go over the word 5 times using different coloured pencils or crayons.

10.30am  Class Diary! – Gather together to share one piece of news, interesting happenings at your place or something completely made up.

11.00am – 11.15am – Morning Tea Break!

11.15am – Shared Story – Today we are reading “The Cat in the Hat” by Dr Seuss. Just in case you miss it (or my internet fails) you can click on the book cover and listen to the story on YouTube.

We are learning and practicing the ‘th’ sound – Together we are going to be Word Wizards and work together to record all the words with a ‘th’ sound that we can think of! You can do this individually if you prefer, then join us to share.

11.30amMaths Challenge – We have been starting to work on fractions in class this term. We have discussed that a fraction is ‘part of a whole’ and that the ‘parts’ have to be ‘equal’. Have a look at the following pictures and see if you can solve them… we can discuss your thoughts in our Google Classroom.
