Room 2  Home Learning Wednesday 8th September

Good morrning, team!! As we are headed back to our actual classroom tomorrrow, this will be our last day in the Google Classroom. Mrs Booth will be closing the classroom a little earlier today, at 11.00am, to head to school and help get the classroom ready for you tomorrow.

Here is the plan for today…

9.30am – Karakia and Attendance in the ‘Whole School‘ Google Classroom

Room 2‘ Google Classroom for the rest of the day.

10.00am – Spelling! – Today’s activity is Look, Cover, Write. Find your list of spelling words, a blank piece of paper, and a pencil. Look at your first spelling word, say it, then cover it and write it (without looking, if you can) on your blank piece of paper. Repeat for each spelling word.

10.15am – Quick Writes – Here is today’s picture prompt. Join me in the classroom to discuss what is happening! You will need a pencil and a piece of paper. Remember, the objective of Quick Writes is to write as many words and sentences as you can in 10 minutes. They also need tomake sense. If you are stuck on the spelling of a word, write down the sounds you can hear, underline it, and move on with the rest of your sentence. Good luck!

10.45am – Maths Challenge! – Here are two independent Math Challenge Sheets. One for Beginners and one that is slightly more challenging. You can pick which one you do, or you can do both if you want!

Click on the picture and it will take you directly to the document in our Google Drive so that you can print. If printing is not an option, then you are welcome to record your answers on a piece of paper 🙂

We will have a look at these together inthe Google Classroom but you can work on the independently at home. If you get stuck on a question, you could ask someone in your bubble for help or you could move on to the ext question and come back to the one you missed later.

11.00am – Morning Tea Break!

Classroom Closed! Right team, our Google Classroom is now closed but here are a few extra things that you can do if you have finished everything else!

Find your School Bag! Find your book bag and get yourself, and all your things ready for school tomorrow. It will make your morning easier, I promise!

Drumming! Here is some music for you to practice your drumming or Chuka Chuks. You could even get the people in your bubble involved too! Enjoy!

‘Run’ by OneRepublic

‘African Drums’ by Chiyo Ishido

Ag-Day Miniature Scene – If you haven’t started this, it would be a good idea to find a ‘shoe-box’ sized container and think about how you want to design ‘A Bugs Bedroom’. This is a home activity for Ag-Day so we will not be working on it in class.

Enjoy your last day before we are back in the classroom! I look forward to seeing you all in person!!!
